I think this documentary is useful in both learning the history of one of the most acclaimed companies of its times and accounting and other types of tricks that were used to boost the earnings of Enron, such as "marking to market", "off-balance sheet financing", "special purpose vehicles", creating artificial shortages in the electricity supply to increase trading profits, and many others. ![]() Even though the story is quite old (Enron went bankrupt at the beginning of 2000s the bankruptcy of Enron then was the one of the biggest corporate bankruptcies in the history of the United States. The documentary is based on the book with the same title. ![]() ![]() While doing some research in the area of white-collar crime I watched a documentary, called "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the room" once again.
